Charities in Twitter storm over balloon releases
24 May 2012
Charities are being urged to abandon balloon releases in a Twitter a campaign.
An “exceptional voluntary sector manager” is being sought to become a full-time PhD student researching performance measurement in the sector at the Cranfield School of Management later this year.
Starting in September 2010, the successful applicant will have their course fees funded for the full four-year period by the Cranfield Trust as well as receiving a bursary of £13,500 per year to cover living expenses.
The course will review and map existing best practice, develop a better understanding of the processes and challenges of measuring performance in the sector and devise tools to help organisations embed such measurement techniques within their organisations.
Amanda Tincknell, chief executive of the Cranfield Trust, said: “Demonstrating the effectiveness of your organisation is vital as competition in the sector, and between voluntary sector and private sector service providers, continues to grow.
“We are looking for an exceptional voluntary sector manager to make a real contribution to sector thinking in the impact field."
Candidates would have strong management background in the sector, ideally at a senior level, with experience of reporting to funders and other stakeholders. They must also demonstrate a strong interest in performance.
