Charities in Twitter storm over balloon releases
24 May 2012
Charities are being urged to abandon balloon releases in a Twitter a campaign.
Jon Sparkes, chief executive of Scope, will stand down at the end of November to take up a new position as director of workforce development for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
Sparkes (pictured) said: “I can honestly say that my three years as chief executive of Scope have never been less than inspirational. While I will be very sorry to leave, I will take great pleasure from watching Scope’s continuing achievements and developments.”
A Scope spokeswoman said that recruitment for a new chief executive would start as soon as possible.
Sparkes joined Scope in 2004 as the executive director for human resources and becoming the charity’s acting chief executive in June 2006, becoming permanent in January 2007.
