Futurebuilders England has launched a £4m short-term cashflow fund to help service delivery organisations who need extra support to help them win more business.
The Cashflow Fund will offer bespoke bridging loans, reserves cover and overdraft guarantees of at least £50,000, with no upper limit.
Managing director of investments, Sue Peters, said Futurebuilders had calculated there is more than £20bn worth of contracting opportunities available to the sector over the next two years, meaning that now is a time of great opportunity despite the recession.
“The fund will target those organisations that need additional support to help them cover short-term gaps in cashflow, enabling them to capitalise on opportunities they may have otherwise missed out on,” she said.
To be eligible for the fund, organisations must be committed to winning public sector contracts; be willing and able to take on a loan; generate more than half of their project’s income from public funds; and be unable to secure a loan for their project from a commercial bank.
Applications will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, until the £4m is used up.
