Our weekly summary of the latest movers in the charity sector.

Catharine Brown, chief executive of Designability

Chief executive

Catharine Brown has been appointed as chief executive of disability charity, Designability. She has held various fundraising and marketing roles in the charity sector and is also a trustee for ActionAid.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining Designability as we celebrate our 50th anniversary and look ahead to an exciting future.”

“I’m looking forward to helping more people with disabilities and long term health conditions live life to the full,” she added.

Tenovus Cancer Care is recruiting a new chief executive following the resignation of Claudia McVie.


Operations 

The Stroke Association has appointed Carol Blott as a director for Wales. She previously held roles including director of the board of community health counciles Wales, NSPCC Wales, Healthwatch and the NHS in England.


Non-executive 

Levison Wood has become an ambassador of the climate change charity, The Glacier Trust. He is a documentary maker, author and photographer who created the documentary series, Walking the Himalayas, for Channel 4.
