Our weekly summary of the latest movers in the charity sector.

Sarah Duthie, St John's Ambulance

Chief Executives

Alastair Bateman has been appointed as CEO of Church Mission Society. He is currently chief operating officer at Resurgo Trust, another Christian charity. Previously, he worked in consultancy in the business sector.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity has hired senior fundraiser Louise Parkes as its new chief executive. She will take up the post on 1 May, replacing Tim Johnson, who has held the role since 2008. Read more here. 


Operations 

The Priory of England and the Islands, the parent charity of St John’s Ambulance, has appointed Sarah Duthie to the new role of director of priory and international affairs. She will develop the heritage assets of the charity to build support for its healthcare work.


Non executives

Fashion entrepreneur Harold Tillman has been appointed as chair of Variety, a disabled children’s charity. He is a former trustee of the V&A.

Women in Sport, a gender equality charity, has appointed Dr Steven Mann to their board of trustees. A former research director at ukactive, he will advise the charity on its research work.

Simon Doherty has been appointed to the board of trustees at farming training charity, Send a Cow. He is the president of the British Veterinary Association and has been a volunteer ambassador for Send a Cow since 2013.
