Weston Charity Awards Grants

Grants available: £6,500.

Who is the funding for?
Grants of £6,500 are available for up to 22 charities. The funding is for registered charities with an income of less than £5m per year with at least one paid full-time member of staff in a leadership position. 

The funding pot is open to charities working with beneficiaries in the north of England, the midlands, and Wales that specialise in community, welfare, youth and environment. 

They are aimed at making strategic change. Winning applicants will also receive access to the Pilotlight 360 programme – a 10-month package of leadership coaching worth an estimated £16,000.

nfpResearch – Small Charity Research Award

Grants available: Free research project for one small charity.
Deadline to apply: 27 January.
Who is the funding for?
npfResearch is launching its first Small Charity Research Award. It is an opportunity for small charities with an income of under £1m if they operate in the UK or under €1 million (if they operate in the Republic of Ireland) valued up to £10,000 for free. 

This £10,000 could cover a survey with supporters and 10 in-depth interviews, three or four focus groups with supporters, a survey with the general public, or a stakeholder perception project.

Material Focus - Electricals Recycling Fund

Grants available: £2.5m pot, grants yet to be specified.
Deadline to apply: Expressions of interest by 31 January.
Who is the funding for?
The £2.5m funding pot is for projects that will make it easier for more people to reuse and recycle unwanted small household electricals. The funding is available to any type of organisation as opposed to just charities. 

Two types of projects will be funded – those seeking to grow or develop existing household collection services for small household electricals and those seeking to create new collection methods.

Civic Power Fund

Grants available: £2,500 - £20,000.
Deadline to apply: 26 February.
Who is the funding for? 
The Civic Power Fund is providing one-off grants of up to £20,000 to grassroots organisations that building the power of their community and campaigning for change. 

Applicants should be hoping to achieve long-term change on issues affecting the lives of their community and addressing injustice. 

The funder prioritises organisations led by people with lived experience of the injustice they are trying to tackle.
