As a child who grew up reading Beano you can imagine how excited I was to learn that the National Trust has enlisted the help of Dennis the Menace and chums to give it an image revamp!

The headline message, that National Trust places are open to all, will contribute to breaking down the perceptions of   the organisation.

For the first time characters from the 73-year-old comic have been allowed to run around the National Trust attractions showing the fun side of the treasured spaces. Characters from Dennis the Menace to Billy Whizz will be conquering castles, meeting wildlife and racing ponies across grand estates, and mazes and talking portraits will all be aimed at enhancing the nature of the experience.

Hopefully Beano readers will have just as much fun as the characters have when they visit. The ‘Gnashional Trust’ special has just gone on sale. For more information visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk/thebeano
