Video: Social media guidance for charities

In the year of the general election, charities will be gearing up to use social media to campaign for their cause – but what should they avoid posting?

Recently published guidance by the Charity Commission states that charities are responsible for ensuring any campaigning is in line with its rules on political activity.

The guidance states that charities “can engage on emotive issues” as long as they align with their purpose, but must be aware that content posted by individuals could be associated with the charity.
