Chief executives

Fraser Sutherland is the new chief executive of Humanist Society Scotland. He was previously the charity’s campaigns and communications manager, and prior to this worked in Citizens Advice Scotland and the Scottish Parliament. He succeeds Gordon MacRae, effective immediately.

Sutherland said: “I am extremely excited to be taking on this new challenge”.

Non-executives

Frontline Aids has appointed Warren Buckingham as the chair of their board of trustees. He has had a career in public health in the US government, and has been a trustee of the charity since 2016. He succeeds Martin Dinham, who has been the chair for nine years.

Practical Action has also appointed a new chair of trustees. Dr Yvonne Pinto will take up her post in December. She has worked in the agriculture sector and in international development.

Clive Conway is to become a patron of Vauxhall City Farm. He is the chair of social wellbeing charity, the Desmond Tutu Foundation UK.

Grantmaker, City Bridge Trust has appointed Dhruv Patel as its chairman. He replaces Alison Gowman who will now be the deputy chair of the committee.
