Chief Executive

The Nazareth Trust, a UK-based Christian organisation, has announced the appointment of Richard Mayhew as its new chief executive.

Mayhew (pictured), who is already based in the city of Nazareth in Israel, will be heading up the UK-based operations in the area. The charity operates a hospital, school of nursing and The Nazareth Village: a visitor attraction.

His appointment was first made in November 2015, but Mayhew has now taken up his role working full-time as of the start of this month.

Guy Rigden has been announced as the sole chief executive of youth charity MyBnk, having served in a co-chief executive role with Lily Lapenna since 2014.

Lapenna, who founded the organisation in 2007, has been appointed co-chair of MyBnk’s board of trustees.

Fundraising and communications

Michael Dent has been appointed director of fundraising at Alzheimer’s Society. Dent joins the UK’s leading dementia charity, from Macmillan Cancer Support, where he was director of mass market fundraising since 2011.

Dent starts in his new role today and takes over from Jon Bodenham, Alzheimer’s Society’s former director of fundraising.

In his previous role with Macmillan, Dent was “responsible for substantially increasing the profile and income” of a number of the organisation’s flagship fundraising events, including the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and Sober October.

Non executive

The Money Advice Trust has announced the appointment of Adam Sharples as chair of trustees.

Sharples will take up the role on 6 July and replaces current chair Mike Barley who will be stepping down after two terms at the trust.

He has held numerous non-executive roles since 2011, including as chair of the Ixion Group and as governor of Anglia Ruskin University. He has also worked in the civil service for over 20 years.
