A charity formed from the merger of the British Liver Trust and Children’s Liver Disease Foundation has revealed its new name and branding.
The charity will now be known as Liver UK and it has also launched a new website, bringing together information, services and support from both charities.
The rebrand follows the publication of the charity’s 2026–2032 strategy, Building Momentum to Change Lives, which set out plans to ensure liver health becomes a national priority.
The two charities merged in an effort to strengthen their impact by pooling resources, with the new charity being directed by an executive team, with trustees and all staff from both of the charities.
Pamela Healy, chief executive of Liver UK, said of the rebrand: “For more than 30 years, the British Liver Trust and Children's Liver Disease Foundation have supported people affected by liver disease and campaigned for better care.
“By bringing our organisations together under one name, we're creating one stronger voice that reflects the scale of the challenge we face today.
“Liver UK is about much more than a new name. It's about reaching more people, raising awareness of liver disease, tackling stigma and misconceptions, supporting everyone affected, and making sure liver health receives the attention it deserves.
“Together, we can transform liver health for everyone.”
In its last set of accounts filed before the merger, for the year to April 2024, the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation recorded an income of £699,000, expenditure of £713,000 and had seven employees.
In its first year after the merger, the then-named British Liver Trust saw its income increase to £2.48m, its expenditure rise to £2.49m and employed 48 people in the year to March 2025.
