Deloitte has opened applications to the second round of its Social Innovation Pioneers programme, claiming the first year was a success.
Participants in the first year saw an average growth of 62 per cent and 139 jobs were created across the 30 organisations.
Deloitte has now opened applications for the second group of 15 to 20 social enterprises that will benefit from the £1m programme. It is recruiting a smaller cohort for the second year but moving the 30 that participated last year to an alumni programme and will continue to offer them targeted support and develop longer term partner opportunities.
The programme aims to accelerate success in a wide range of organisations in the social sector through advice and workshops from company volunteers. Last year’s participants included Autism Works, Pants to Poverty, Global Ethics, Capital Conflict Management and the Brightside Trust.
Heather Hancock, managing partner of talent and brand at Deloitte said: “We have learned a lot in the first year of this programme, working with some tremendous businesses and entrepreneurs. We are delighted that the Pioneers have been able to grow their businesses at such a fast rate during this year.”
To be eligible for the programme organisations have to be able to demonstrate clear measurable impact, have a minimum two years of trading accounts, and have 50 per cent of revenue generated through service delivery or sales.
The deadline for applications is 7 April, interviews will be conducted in mid-April and successful organisations will be notified at the end of the month. More information available here.
