Andrew O’Brien moves from NCVO to head CFG’s policy team

Andrew O’Brien is to join the Charity Finance Group as head of policy and public affairs.

O'Brien (pictured), was previously senior policy offer at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.

He said of his new role: “I’m delighted to be appointed. Charity Finance Group is a body that represents a really important part of the charity sector and it is very exciting to be part of a team that is going to represent the sector going forward into the next election.”

CFG has been hit by some high profile departures in the last year, with three out of four members of its new leadership team, who were appointed in January 2014, leaving the organisation.

Its director of policy and engagement, John Ingamells, left the charity after five months in the role. Jane Tully, deputy director of policy and engagement, also left earlier this year, as did Jacqui Porritt, director of resources.

O’Brien will take up the position on 5 January.
