Since the pandemic hit, many funders have stepped up to offer charities more support, more flexibility, and more unrestricted funding. However, Covid-19 is not impacting everyone in the same way. Communities of colour, and the grassroots charities supporting them, are bearing the brunt. These are the same charities that have been chronically underfunded for years.

It was only a few weeks into the pandemic that campaigners started asking funders to ringfence funds for these charities, and to distribute money more fairly. Months later, progress is happening – but at an agonisingly slow pace.
