Unity Kitchen, the social enterprise arm of the Camden Society, has been awarded the right to run the first café on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP). Its chief executive, Denise Largin, explains how charitable aims and a commercially-minded social enterprise can work together successfully to realise common ambitions.

The Camden Society is a charity supporting people with learning disabilities in London and Oxfordshire. The Society has a chain of six cafes called Unity Kitchen which are run as social enterprises to provide training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities who have a passion for food and customer service, and wish to develop a career in hospitality and catering.
