Lush – Charity Pot Grants

Grants available: up to £10,000

Who is the funding for?
The Charity Pot is a hand and body cream at Lush where 100% of sales, minus local taxes, are distributed to animal rights, environment and human rights organisations.

Lush funds small, grassroots groups because they often struggle to find funding. Charities and organisations that apply must have an annual income of less than £250,000.

Four to six weeks.

Tesco Community Grants

Grants available: up to £1,500
Deadline to apply: No deadline
Who is the funding for?
Tesco Community Grants is open to charities and community groups. Every three months, it gives three local organisations the chance to be selected as a blue token customer vote in Tesco stores through the UK. Applications will not be accepted from profit-making organisations. 

Tesco is currently prioritising local good causes that support food security, children and young people. However, all good causes are encouraged to apply. 

It does not fund charitable projects that are political or religious, fundraising activities or challenges, running costs, conferences, overseas appeals, research projects. Check your eligibility here.

Nine months due to the volume of applications.

DCMS – Youth Investment Fund

Grants available: previous grants have been up to £400,000

Who is the funding for?
A £368m fund, launched by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), has opened for applications.

Youth services in the country’s most underserved areas are being encouraged to apply for a portion of the fund to improve the health, wellbeing, skills and opportunities of young people.

The Youth Investment Fund is open for bids from 45 local authorities and more than 600 district wards. Registered charities and exempt charities are eligible to apply. Funding should go towards delivering positive activities for young people aged 11-18 (up to age 25 for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

The Fat Beehive Foundation

Grants available: up to £2,500
Deadline to apply: 30 September
Who is the funding for? 
The small grant-making charity only funds charities that have an average income of less than £1m a year. 

It will prioritise funding projects that are based on:

  • Environmental protection
  • Climate change mitigation
  • Human rights
  • International development
  • Equality and diversity
  • Social justice, refugees and housing
  • Education
  • Art and culture
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Prisoner rehabilitation

The foundation does not fund charities that promote religion and will not fund core or staff costs.

The Leathersellers’ Company – Small Grants Programme

Grants available: up to £5,000
Deadline to apply: First come, first serve basis
Who is the funding for?
The funding is for charities or charitable incorporated organisations operating in the UK with an annual income of under £200,000. They must provide assistance to vulnerable people and operate in deprived areas. 
When will you hear back?
First committee meeting to consider these grants will be 12 September. Decisions will follow.
