Two of the children featured in Missing People’s Twitter appeal last month have been found safe and well.

The Big Tweet was held at the end of May to coincide with International Missing Children’s Day and the launch of a new Missing Kids website. Over the course of 24 hours the charity tweeted a different missing child appeal every 30 minutes – a total of 48 appeals.

Martin Houghton-Brown, Missing People chief executive said: “It is wonderful that two of the children we searched for during the Big Tweet for Missing Children have been found. The campaign highlights our charity’s ambition to utilise every possible resource in reuniting vulnerable children and adults with their loved ones.”

An advert raising awareness of the 116 000 helpline, which launched at the same as the Big Tweet, is also being played in cinemas. It was made by creative agency BBH and is being supported by ICAP, Cinema Exhibitors Association and the Outdoor Media Centre.
