Rachel Griffin, chief executive of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, dies

Rachel Griffin, chief executive officer of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, passed away at her home on Saturday morning.

Griffin was at the safeguarding charity for seven years and previously at Victim Support, where she was national manager of victims’ services advocates.

The charity posted a message on Twitter yesterday, it said: “We are sad to announce that our CEO, Rachel Griffin, passed away on Saturday. 

“She will be sorely missed by all of her colleagues at Suzy Lamplugh Trust. 

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.”

People from across the sector have paid tribute to her on Twitter. 

Clare Laxton, associate director policy and influencing at CLIC Sargent, said: “Am so so sorry to hear this. I worked with Rachel lots at my time at @womensaid and she brought so much expertise and support to discussions. She was a brilliant person who made a huge difference. My thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues.”

Paul Famer, chief executive of Mind, said: "Such sad news. A true charity professional who will have helped so many people.”

Claire Waxman, victims' commissioner for London, said: "Personally devastated at the loss of Rachel Griffin, CEO @live_life_safe - she was always so supportive & worked tirelessly to progress better support & care for #stalking victims. My thoughts are with the SLT family and all Rachel’s family & friends. She will be greatly missed.”
