Street fundraising team leaders will be more visible to the public and officials during a three-month trial of a new armband for the fundraisers.
The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association has announced that as of today the 30 Gift Fundraising team leaders will be identified by a purple arm band.
The trial is designed to test whether identifying the team leaders will stimulate contact between town centre managers, other licensing official or the general public and the fundraising team leaders.
Nick Henry, head of standards at the PFRA, said that the idea was borne out of conversations with some local authorities around site management agreements where it was suggested that team leaders should be more visible.
“It’s a very sensible suggestion and will mean that team leaders can be identified by the public and traders too,” said Henry.
