Clinks, the umbrella body for charities working with offenders, has launched an online directory for charities and social enterprises to promote their work in criminal justice to primes and commissioners.
The Partnership Finder was funded by around £54,000 from the Cabinet Office to support its Transforming Rehabilitation programme and maximise civil society engagement within the supply chain.
Launched on Friday, it lists over 300 civil society organisations which commissioners, prime providers and consortia can search through. This can be done by various criteria such as service provided, geographical area, size or track record.
Clinks' director, Clive Martin, said: “We know prime providers are already turning to Partnership Finder to research and build their supply chains, as they know it will contain all the information they need at a glance.
“I would urge any organisations that have not yet registered to do so now and make the most of the opportunity to promote the fantastic work you do to rehabilitate offenders.”
Nick Hurd, minister for civil society, added that the platform would help civil society organisations land contracts.
“We want to work with the most effective organisations to reduce unacceptable levels of reoffending,” he said. “This is one of several initiatives to make it easier for great charities, social enterprises and mutuals to compete effectively for contracts."
Transforming Rehabilitation sets out the Ministry of Justice’s plans for reducing reoffending, which include moving probation services into the private and voluntary sector.
Last week, the MoJ announced it would start procuring the delivery of probation services from the voluntary and private sector in September, with plans for delivery to start in autumn next year.
