The NSPCC is disposing with ticket books as it launches its latest raffle using SMS technology.

The children’s charity today launches its ‘text-to-win’ raffle in which it is offering a Jaguar XF Diesel as first prize in a fundraising campaign to support the NSPCC HelpLine.

But rather than send out raffle books to supporters, the charity will be encouraging supporters and the wider public to participate via SMS. Players will be asked to send a text message with the word ‘DONATE’ and their answer to a multiple choice to a short code. They will be charged £3, of which NSPCC will receive around £1.74.

The NSPCC is hoping to raise £100,000 from the campaign and secure 60,000 players. The SMS platform, DaVinci Studio, has been donated by IMImobile.

The campaign will run until January 31 next year.
