Minister for civil society meetings focus on youth and social investment

The minister for civil society met with the NCS Trust four times in three months, and in the same period met just once with NCVO and not at all with some sector umbrella bodies, according to recently published details of ministerial meetings. 

Details of meetings Cabinet Office ministers’ meetings for the three months leading up to June 2016 – the last period for which the minister was part of the Cabinet Office - were published last week, and show that Rob Wilson held a total of 28 meetings in that period, with a focus on fundraising regulation, social investment and youth policy. 

He met with NCVO once over the period, and has met with them on a number of occasions in the past twelve months. 

In the year to the end of June 2016 he has held 124 meetings but has not met at all with Acevo or the Charity Finance Group. He has also not met with the Institute of Fundraising since last December, or Navca since last September.  

Between April and the end of June he discussed social investment with a number of different bodies including the Association of Charitable Foundations, Big Society Capital, Impetus PEF, Numbers for Good and Unltd. 

Wilson has met with the Fundraising Regulator four times since the start of the year - twice in February, once in April and once in June. He met with the Russell Group to discuss the Etherington Review and with Age UK to discuss fundraising.

As well as the four meetings with NCS Trust he met with the Scouts Association to discuss youth social action.
