Customer contact system provider and registered charity bss has acquired the creative digital agency M-Corp.

bss declined to reveal how much it has paid for M-Corp, but said the acquisition would strengthen its portfolio of technology solutions to include web design solutions, systems integration and mobile platforms.

M-Corp has a turnover of around £1.7m and made a small loss of £28,809 in the year ending 31 October 2010.

Its clients include insurance company LV= and the RSPCA.

bss was set up in 1975 when the BBC launched its ‘On the Move’ adult literacy campaign.

It became a separate organisation two years later, and now works with the remit of enabling people to improve the quality of their lives and society 'by providing specialist multi-media contact centre, distribution and information services to our customers'.

Its annual income in 2009/10 was £26.8m.

Peter Calderbank, chief executive of bss, said: “M-Corp enhances our product offering and strengthens our credibility in the web technology arena which is becoming increasingly important in the current communications landscape.

“It also complements our existing services and reaffirms our commitment to providing clients with the most effective solutions that deliver results and crucially cost efficiency."
