Charityshare, the IT infrastructure collaboration between the NSPCC, the Children’s Society and the Alzheimer’s Society, is in negotiations to formally include three more charities.
Speaking to Civil Society IT, Children’s Society corporate services director Charles Nall (pictured) said he was unable to name the prospective charities at present but added that the project, a limited company, is “receiving a lot of interest at the moment”.
He also said Charityshare has plans to double the number of PCs or users it services to 10,000 over the next couple of years.
“This will make us a no-brainer; it’ll make us fabulously competitive against commercial outsourcing houses as we’ll be about a third of the price.”
Charityshare provides core IT infrastructure services to the member charities including technical support, infrastructure and hosting, security management and IT consultancy.
