Charity Commission board member steps down over time commitments

Nazo Moosa, a Charity Commission board member and chair of the audit and risk committee, has resigned from the board with effect from 18 September, saying she does not have the time to commit to the role.

Nazo Moosa, a Charity Commission board member and chair of the audit and risk committee, has resigned from the board with effect from 18 September, saying she does not have the time to commit to the role.

Moosa joined the Commission in May last year, but said it was increasingly difficult to fit in the role alongside a full time job which involves “considerable international travel”.

Moosa is managing partner at C5 Capital, an investment company which specialises in the security and data sectors.

William Shawcross, chairman of the Charity Commission, said: “Nazo has made a very important contribution as a member of the Charity Commission Board over the last year.

“Her experience in change management and her business expertise has been invaluable to the Commission during the last year as we have embarked on a wide ranging programme of change and improvement. I am so grateful to her for all she has done.”

Last December Moosa appeared before the Public Accounts Committee when she called for a “broader debate” on the role of the Commission and Margaret Hodge warned Moosa that the committee was “losing patience” with the Commission.
