ATM operator Bank Machine, which has 3,500 cash machines across the UK, has already had hundreds of charities registering interest for its new ATM donation scheme set to launch next year.
ATM network Link announced an agreement with the major high-street banks to enable donations to charity at cashpoint machines earlier this year.
The donation option on the LINK ATM Network, of which Bank Machine is a member, is planning to go live during April 2012.
Bank Machine is one of the first operators to start engaging with charities about the new scheme.
It had 200 charities registering their interest within the first week of it calling for organisations to apply.
Bank Machine said an impartial panel will decide which charities will feature on its cash machines. The critieria has not been defined, but it could be localised, for example a Scottish charity may feature on a Scottish ATM.
Commenting on this ATM based innovation, Bank Machine’s managing director Ron Delnevo said: "Bank Machine fully supports this superb initiative. We believe many millions of pounds can be raised for good causes and we want to give as many charities as possible the opportunity to apply to participate at Bank Machine ATMs. Bank Machine will select from those charities that apply directly to us".
Any charity wishing to register an interest in receiving donations through Bank Machine ATMs during 2012 should contact [email protected] before 30 November 2011.
