Big Lottery Fund distributes £4m to eight Scottish projects

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded almost £4m worth of grants to projects across Scotland aiding disabled people, young care leavers and people affected by homelessness.

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded almost £4m worth of grants to projects across Scotland aiding disabled people, young care leavers and people affected by homelessness.

Eight projects have benefitted from grants ranging from £201,200 to £793,061 awarded as part of BIG’s Investing in Communities fund. “Today’s awards mark the beginning of an exciting and rewarding new year for many people across Scotland who, with that extra bit of support, will be able to realise their potential,” BIG said.

Momentum Scotland (pictured), a charity supporting disabled people in Glasgow, Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire, was awarded the largest grant for its ‘Strathclyde Momentum programme’.

Inverclyde Community Care Forum was awarded £572,608 to enable it to support older people in maintaining connections with the community through social events, activities and access to relevant information. These initiatives are part of its ‘Keeping active in later life’ scheme.
