Mark Coote

Mark Coote is director of community fundraising at Cancer Research UK. A former history and politics teacher, Coote joined the charity in 1997 as a volunteer. He worked for a year as head of major gift projects before taking up his current role in 2005.

Who said volunteering is dead?

It's just changing. Or at least that's what Mark Coote thinks as he takes care of over 1,000 volunteer fundraising groups at Cancer Research UK.

Passing volunteers the baton

Relay for Life has proved a phenomenal success for the American Cancer Society. Cancer Research UK licensed the event in 1996 and it has proved a major growth engine for the charity, as Mark Coote explains.
