Lynne Berry

Lynne Berry was appointed chief executive of WRVS (Women’s Royal Voluntary Service) in 2007 after she joined from the General Social Care Council.

Previously Berry had worked at the Equal Opportunities Commission, been executive director of the Charity Commission and chief executive of the Family Welfare Association.

She has also acted as vice-chair of the Commission on the Future of the Voluntary Sector in England and chair of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation report on Governance in the Voluntary Sector.

Her services to the social care sector were recognised with an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in 2006.
