Chris Askew

Chris Askew is the chief executive of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a post he takes up in November 2010.

An experienced fundraiser, Askew joined Breakthrough as director of fundraising in 2006 after three years as director of fundraising at Crisis. Prior to that he worked at NCH (now Action for Children) for six years in a number of fundraising roles.

His move into the civil society sector was prompted by a number of years volunteering for the MS Society and followed an earlier career as a dry cargo shipbroker.

While at Breakthrough, Askew has led the development of a strategy to diversify the charity’s income streams.
