This year to raise awareness about mental health, Rethink Mental Illness are asking people to text whether they are feeling on team jingle or on team humbug this Christmas, and encouraging people to donate £3 to the charity.

Rethink said: “It's just a silly seasonal fundraiser starting on #GivingTuesday where you can join in, give £3, and we'll keep a tally of the messages received and tell you how our supporters are feeling about the festiveness of the season - pretty right-on tinselly or sick to the egg-noggy core of carols, decorations and all things jingly”.

The charity is telling people that if they are feeling down this Christmas, they shouldn’t just text humbug. They should seek information here, or contact your GP or the NHS by dialling 111, or speak to the Samaritans.

To join in text either JINGLE or HUMBUG to 70300 to give £3.
