Chief executive
Mandy Johnson has left the Small Charities Coalition after just over a year as its chief executive.
The announcement was made on Twitter by the SCC’s trustees, who explained that Johnson resigned from her post last Friday. The trustees thanked Johnson for her work, and confirmed the umbrella body was looking to recruit a new chief executive “as soon as possible”.
The SCC was Johnson’s first chief executive post. She previously held a number of senior fundraising roles, and recently appeared in the top 10 of this year’s Fundraising Magazine Most Influential poll.
Non executive
The UN Women National Committee has announced the appointment of Baroness Sandip Verma as its new chair.
Verma has held several key ministerial appointments, including parliamentary under secretary of state at the Department for International Development, since entering the House of Lords in 2006. She is currently ministerial champion for tackling violence against women and girls overseas.
She has been appointed on an initial three year term, and will be replacing previous chair Laura Haynes, who is retiring from the role after her three year term.
National grocery charity GroceryAid has announced the appointment of two new members of its board of trustees.
Both Louise Stigant and Helen Murray have joined as trustees of the charity. Stigant was recently announced as the new UK managing director of American food and beverage company Mondelez, while Murray is currently a special projects lawyer for the Morrisons supermarket chain.
Ruston Smith, chair of GroceryAid welcomed Stigant and Murray, and said the two appointments would “further strengthen” the charity’s trustee board.
