New chief exec for English Heritage
English Heritage has appointed Tim Reeve as its new chief executive, the charity announced today. Reeve will take over from current interim chief executive Geoff Parkin, who has been in the role since July 2025.
Reeve is currently deputy director and chief operating officer at the V&A. He joined the museum in 2013, and takes an operational and strategic overview of all of the museum’s resources and activities, including the evolution of the V&A into a multi-site family of museums.
Reeve said of his new role: “I am honoured to be English Heritage’s next chief executive. It is one of the most important roles in UK cultural life: leading a charity that means so much to so many people, in every corner of England.
“I'm excited to help guide English Heritage through the next stage of its journey, building a stable and sustainable future so the charity can fulfil its enormous potential.”
SolarAid appoints new CEO
Nick Pearson has been appointed as the new chief executive of SolarAid.
Pearson joined the organisation effective today, and has more than 30 years of international leadership experience across multi-national businesses, social enterprise, impact investing and the off-grid energy sector, including 18 years living and working across sub-Saharan Africa.
Commenting on the appointment, chair of SolarAid's Board, Lionel Marumahoko, said: “We're thrilled to welcome Nick to SolarAid at such an exciting point in our journey.
“His unique blend of commercial leadership, deep experience in the energy access sector, and long-standing connection to sub-Saharan Africa make him exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation into its next chapter.”
New chair for Scope
Disability equality charity Scope has appointed Mark Wood as the new chair of its board of trustees, succeeding outgoing chair Robin Millar.
Wood has leadership and governance experience from across the charity and business sectors.
Throughout his career, he has held senior executive and board positions, and previously served as chair of the NSPCC for nine years.
New chair and trustees for Ben
Automotive charity, Ben, has announced the appointment of a new chair and four new trustees as it enters an exciting new chapter in its ambition to transform the future of health and wellbeing across the automotive industry.
Jonathan Hewett has been appointed as chair of Ben. He is chief executive of Thatcham Research, the UK's only automotive risk intelligence organisation.
Joining Hewett on the board are Darren Edwards, former CEO of Sytner Group; Georgina Hoare, chief executive of the PDA Society, Damian Oton, COO at Motability Operations, and Pia Wilkes, CEO of the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).
New interim director of philanthropy and investment for Lloyds
Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales has welcomed Lizzy Steinhart as its new interim director of philanthropy and investment, effective 1 September.
Steinhart has experience spanning philanthropy, wealth management, family offices and the charity sector. Most recently, she built and led a philanthropy advisory practice, working with individuals and families to turn their values and ambitions into meaningful social impact.
Steinhart said of her new role: “I’m hugely excited to be joining the foundation at such a pivotal time. With the recent launch of our new strategy, the chance to lead the foundation’s philanthropy pilot is just up my street.
“The relationship with Lloyds Banking Group is already strong, so there’s a huge opportunity to explore how we can increase philanthropic giving, social investment and volunteering across the breadth of the group’s customer base. I can’t wait to get started.”
Music Venue Trust strengthens leadership team
Music Venue Trust has appointed several new members to its leadership team as it completes a multi-year programme to build a more resilient management structure.
Joining the charity’s founder and CEO Mark Dayd are Toni Coe-Brooker as campaigns & communications manager; Sophie Asquith as venue support manager; Chris Hurne as head of external affairs; Denzil Thomas as partnerships manager; Rebecca Walker as live projects manager and Adrian Norman as financial controller.
The appointments complete a wider organisational development programme that has established a 21-strong team across four departments, providing dedicated expertise in venue support, fundraising, partnerships, campaigns, communications, live project delivery and finance.
New board members of National Lottery Community Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund has appointed two new board members: Sunder Katwala and Michelle Mitchell.
Mitchell is currently chief executive of Cancer Research UK, and has a career spanning some of the UK’s largest charities.
Katwala is director of British Future, an organisation which engages with questions of immigration and integration, and has also served as commissioner of the Equality and Human Rights Commission since May 2026.
New trustee for National Citizens Advice trustee board
Peter Ware, a partner at law firm Browne Jacobson, has been appointed as a national board member at National Citizens Advice trustee board.
Ware will use his experience of working with local and central government organisations to assist the UK charity in making long-term decisions about strategic direction and values.
Ware said: “Being appointed as a trustee for Citizens Advice provides a fresh but equally meaningful way to address some of the biggest issues facing society today.”
Mencap appoints new trustees
Learning disability charity Mencap has appointed two new trustees to its board: Jitesh Sodha and Dinesh Sattee.
Sodha has more than 25 years of senior finance leadership experience, with five board-level group chief financial officer (CFO) roles including as group chief financial officer at Spire Healthcare, De La Rue and Greenergy International.
Sattee is Mencap’s second trustee who has a learning disability, and has spent much of his life advocating and campaigning to improve the lives of disabled people through work with the National Autistic Society, Every Disabled Child Matters and Transition Information Network.
Sattee is also an elected parliamentary representative for Lewisham Speaking Up, and is a freelance stage, pyrotechnics and special effects technician.
London Air Ambulance announces three trustee appointments
London’s Air Ambulance Charity has announced the appointment of three new members to its board of trustees, with Baroness Caroline Pidgeon, Johnty Gray, and Professor Karim Brohi joining the board.
Pidgeon is an experienced leader with a 26-year career as a Southwark Councillor and London Assembly Member. A member of the House of Lords since August 2024, she brings board experience and a background in NHS communication.
Gray is a senior fundraising and engagement leader with over three decades of experience in the NGO sector, and is currently the individual engagement director at Oxfam GB.
Brohi is a consultant trauma surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust and professor of trauma sciences at Queen Mary University of London.
