In this fortnightly column, Civil Society looks at funding pots available to the UK charity sector. This week includes funds from Pilotlight and the Heart of England Community Foundation.

Heart of England Community Foundation – Inclusive Communities Fund 

Grants available: £15,000 - £300,000.
Deadline to apply: 4 January 2024. 
Who is the funding for?
Grants will be available for activities and services that bring people together, improve health and wellbeing and help the region of the West Midlands to grow. Available to communities in and around Birmingham, the activities must fall within the themes of sport, mental health and wellbeing and arts and culture.

Pilotlight and Garfield Weston Foundation – Weston Charity Awards

Grants available: up to £6,500. 
Deadline to apply: 10 January 2024.
Who is the funding for?
Applications are now open for the Weston Charity Awards, where 22 charities will be awarded up to £6,500. Registered charities that have at least one full-time paid member of staff and an income of less than £5m a year are eligible to apply. The charity must be working to alleviate disadvantages for communities, the environment, young people and more. The leader of the charity applying must be willing to travel to central London for a minimum of four out of ten meetings.

Big Give – Green Match Fund 

Grants available: Match-funding. 
Deadline to apply: 16 January 2024. 
Who is the funding for?
UK-registered charities with an income of at least £25,000 per year that are working on environmental issues are being invited to apply for match funding. The campaign will run from 18 – 25 April and will coincide with World Earth Day. It is seeking to raise over £10m for the charities taking part, more than double the amount raised last year. 
When will you hear back?
February 2024.
