Mark Bramwell, head of information technology at the Wellcome Trust, has been shortlisted for CIO of the Year at the Chartered Institute for IT's UK IT Industry Awards.
Responding to the news, he said: “This prestigious nomination is testament to the hard work, professionalism and commitment of my team and the tangible results they have delivered over the past two years.
“Their willingness to embrace change has been phenomenal, but we could not have achieved this without the full support of the Executive Board.”
The Wellcome Trust recently saved more than £600,000 by moving to cloud-based IT management.
Judging will take place in September and the awards dinner will be held 10 November at the Battersea Park Events Arena when the winners will be announced.
The Cancer Research UK team has also been nominated for Community Project of the Year and English Heritage for the Public Sector Project of the Year.
