Save the Children has the most effective senior management team in the charitable sector, according to a survey by a ratings firm.
The company ViewsHub asked more than 50,000 charity professionals to rate their leadership colleagues, and those in other organisations, on three different criteria: project delivery; operational excellence and how responsive they were to feedback.
These results were then collated to create scores for the effectiveness of different teams within these organisations across different sectors.
The senior team at Save the Children received a total score of 4.5 out of 5, followed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and WWF, which scored 3.7 and 3.6 respectively.
Ab Banerjee, chief executive of ViewsHub, said: "So far there has been no way for outsiders to get a fair and balanced view of how different senior management teams are performing.
"Our dynamic league table provides the sector with an authentic window into how effectively charities are being managed, as perceived by others, and also hopefully incentivises leadership teams to continually improve their performance, which is clearly to the benefit of the charity and its overall effectiveness.
"Over the last few years, we have seen the focus within organisations move from the performance of single individuals to the performance of teams. Feedback and monitoring tools haven't quite caught up yet. ViewsHub provides organisations with the platform and tools they need to change that."
The publication of the results also marks the launch of the company's real-time tracker, which monitors the effectiveness of organisations’ top teams and publishes the top three in any sector on its website.
There has been some change to Save the Children’s leadership team in recent months, with former interim executive director of marketing, fundraising and communications Nick Jones moving to Action for Children in February.
