Rob Wilson loses his seat at election

Rob Wilson, former minister for civil society

Rob Wilson, who was the minister for civil society prior to the election, lost his Reading East seat to Labour candidate Matt Rodda. 

The Conservatives have the most seats, but do not have an overall majority and Prime Minister Theresa May is in the process of trying to form a government. 

Steve Reed, who was the Labour shadow minister for civil society, held on to his Croydon seat. 

Jane Ellison, who was the treasury minister responsible for charity issues, has also lost her seat, however Karen Bradley, who was Culture Secretary retained hers

Other figures of interest to the sector who have retained their seats are: 

Labour candidate Peter Kyle, former deputy chief executive of Acevo, has been re-elected as MP for Hove and Portslade

Anna Turley, former shadow minister, held her Redcar seat for Labour

Nick Hurd, former minister for civil society, held his Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner seat for the Conservatives 

Priti Patel, who was Secretary of State for International Development, was re-elected as the Conservative MP for Witham
