Nicky Morgan, the new Financial Secretary to the Treasury, is to keep responsibility for charity taxation following a Cabinet reshuffle.

Morgan was previously Economic Secretary to the Treasury. She moved roles following the resignation of Maria Miller as Culture Secretary over public criticisms of her expenses.

The Treasury has said that Morgan will still be responsible for “charities, the voluntary sector and gift aid”, in her new role.

Andrea Leadsom, MP for South Northamptonshire, is now the Economic Secretary to the Treasury and Sajid Javid, former Financial Secretary to the Treasury, is the new Cuture Secretary.
