The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI) has stopped inviting registrations of new charities until September as it plans an update to its online systems.
CCNI is implementing a “more modern design and clearer guidance” to its My Charity Login service, through which charities file their annual returns and update their details.
Charities can still submit reports and accounts during the upgrade but have been encouraged to do so before August, as there may be a “short outage” that month.
CCNI has also asked organisations working on a charity application to submit their completed forms before the end of July.
It has advised those organisations with incomplete applications to save and print a copy if they are unable to file theirs before the deadline.
CCNI has urged registered charities to check their public register entry and update any out-of-date contact or trustee details using the current My Charity Login ahead of the systems upgrade.
It will contact charities in September once the new system is live.
