MPs are placing pressure on the government to address the problem of charities not being able to reclaim VAT like businesses.

MPs are placing pressure on the government to address the problem of charities not being able to reclaim VAT like businesses.

Two early day motions have been tabled on the issue this week by Labour MPs David Crausby and Valerie Vaz.

Both motions ask for the government to cut red tape and allow the sector to work on a level playing field with other organisations who are able to recover VAT.

The EDMs currently have combined support from 17 MPs so far.
