The British Association of Medical Managers, a registered charity with income in excess of £1m, has ceased operations.

The British Association of Medical Managers, a registered charity with income in excess of £1m, has ceased operations.

The association, which since 1991 has supported clinicians who also hold senior management and leadership roles, cancelled its annual conference last month just days before it was due to take place.

Delegates had paid £1,000 each for the three-day conference in Brighton, with callers informed that the association had gone into receivership.

Chief executive Jenny Simpson did not respond to Civil Society’s enquiries, but has reportedly denied that the body has gone into administration, saying it has temporarily ceased trading while it considers its options.
