Clic Sargent’s director of fundraising Lucy Caldicott has left Clic Sargent to undertake consultancy work, and has been replaced in the interim by Rachel Kirby-Rider.

Caldicott (pictured) had been with the charity as director of fundraising since 2007. Kirby-Rider will replace Caldicott as interim director of fundraising until a permanent replacement is found. She is a senior consultant at Good Values and has previously worked at Samaritans and Diabetes UK.

Before starting to undertake consultancy work, Caldicott will go to Romania with Hope and Homes for Children, an international charity working to end the institutionalised care of children, where she is now a trustee.

Lorraine Clifton, Clic Sargent’s chief executive, said: “Lucy has been an enormous asset to the charity. Under her leadership our fundraising income has increased by about 30 per cent from £19.9m in 2006/7 to £25.5m last year, enabling us to support many, many more children and young people with cancer, and their families. We’re very sorry to see her go. She will be greatly missed. But we wish her the very best for the future.

“I’m delighted that we have appointed Rachel Kirby-Rider as our interim director of fundraising, while we recruit for a permanent replacement. Rachel has a wealth of experience in the charity sector, including working at Samaritans for five years, and is very well placed to help us drive forward our ambitious fundraising strategy.”
