London launches voluntary and community sector database for healthcare service delivery

The London Voluntary Service Council is calling for voluntary and community organisations delivering healthcare services in the city to add their details to a new mapping database designed to provide opportunities for public service delivery contracts.

The London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC) is calling for voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) delivering healthcare services in the city to add their details to a new mapping database designed to provide opportunities for public service delivery contracts.

On the Radar, a project funded by the Department of Health and NHS London will be used by commissioners tendering new contracts and if successful could be launched nationally.

Launching officially in June, On the Radar will focus mainly on alcohol related services for the first month, eventually including services across the healthcare spectrum. It is hoped the database will help identify gaps, and therefore opportunities for provision of services by the sector.

“This is a real opportunity for public health commissioners to find out more about the successful work that VCOs do to improve health and well-being. On the Radar will promote the work of the sector and facilitate partnership working to deliver the best results for people living in the capital,” said Peter Lewis, chief executive of LVSC.
