A new fundraising showcase website has been launched this week to give fundraisers better access to resources.

A new fundraising showcase website has been launched this week to give fundraisers better access to resources.

The Showcase of Fundraising Innovation and Inspiration (Sofii) website currently attracts 15-20,000 individual users to the site each month. The new website was launched to improve usability and ease of access.

Sue Kershaw, development director at Sofii, said: “We hope the new website will boost our user numbers around the world.

“We have to keep up with the needs of fundraisers accessing Sofii in new ways – including on their mobile devices - and make sure the way they can search the site is sophisticated enough to meet their needs.”

The site is hoped to generate increased financial support for Sofii from corporate donors, fundraising associations and charities, Kershaw said.

The redesign was made possible by donations from British and American organisations and supporters totalling more than £30,000. A £10,000 donation was received from the telephone fundraising agency Listen.

Tony Charalambides, managing director at Listen, said: “We believe Sofii is a vital reservoir of fundraising expertise that budding fundraisers at all levels can use to their advantage to make good things happen in the world.

“Sofii is bringing global fundraisers close together, and it’s critical that not only will users be able to access the information they need more readily, but to do so in a range of languages.”

The new website remains at the former web address, sofii.org.

Sofii was launched in 2007 to provide free resources for fundraisers with the aim of providing the most comprehensive collection of fundraising related content from around the world.
