JustGiving will remove all monthly fees for very small charities, but will hike its prices for larger organisations by 160 per cent.
The donations platform currently charges a monthly fee of £15 plus VAT, plus 5 per cent of all transactions. In a post on its website, it said this structure would change.
From September charities raising more than £15,000 a year – including gift aid – will now pay £39 a month. Those raising below a lower threshold will not pay a fee. The lower threshold is still to be established.
JustGiving's 5 per cent transaction fee will remain unchanged.
“Pricing is set based on the amount raised in a 12-month period,” JustGiving said. “If a charity reaches the £15,000 in donations and Gift Aid threshold, we will upgrade your plan, to take effect shortly after the end of that 12 months.
“If a charity is no longer raising over the £15,000 threshold in a subsequent period, we will notify them and give them the option to drop back down to the £15 per month plan.”
