Jonathan Lewis will step down from his chief executive role at the Social Investment Business and its parent charity the Adventure Capital Fund to take up a new job in July.

A Social Investment Business (SIB) spokeswoman would not reveal Lewis’ new role, but said an announcement was expected soon.

Lewis said in a statement: “After three and a half fantastic years at the Social Investment Business and the Adventure Capital Fund (ACF), growing the organisations and the support they give to many hundreds of charities and social enterprises, I am moving on.

"Working with the talented and committed staff and board here has been incredibly rewarding and I am pleased to be leaving the organisations with both a great track record of delivery and strong futures ahead.”

SIB and ACF are currently in the process of recruiting a new chief executive – financial director Darren Garner will be acting chief executive in the interim period.

The organisations manage a number of funds on behalf of the government, including the Communitybuilders Fund and the Social Enterprise Investment Fund. They also ran the £215m Futurebuilders loan fund.
