CFDG has revealed the five nominees for its upcoming trustee elections, with Ian Theodoreson (pictured), chief finance officer of the Church of England, and Kevin Barnes, director of finance at Barnardo’s, among the candidates.

The others up for election are: Diane Bassett, head of corporate services at the South West Lakes Trust; Dr Stuart Fair, head of finance and support services at the Kent Wildlife Trust; and Helen Saxton, trustee of Welsh mental health charity Gofal.

Members are invited to choose up to three candidates. The three vacant posts have arisen on the board as Roger Chester has reached the end of his maximum two terms, Charles Nall has already stood down as chair after leaving the charity sector for a position in the NHS, and Fiona Young has left to dedicate herself to motherhood.

The deadline for nomination forms to be sent to CFDG is 31 August, with the results due to be announced at the umbrella body’s Annual General Meeting on 6 September.

The AGM will also see the announcement of another trustee, this time appointed by board members, to replace former Liberal Democrat MP Mark Oaten, who stood down after a new job meant he was unable to devote sufficient time to the finance directors’ body.
