Bank of England’s chief economist to open Charity Finance Week

02 Oct 2020 Announcement

Andy Haldane, former chief economist of the Bank of England

Andy Haldane, chief economist of the Bank of England, will deliver the opening keynote at Charity Finance Week in November.

Civil Society Media has combined three of our successful events: the Charity Finance Summit, the Charity Fraud Conference and the Charity Technology Conference, for a week of virtual events from 23-27 November.

Haldane is also the founder and trustee of Pro Bono Economics, a charity which brokers economists into charitable projects. He will open the week with an overview of the economy and outlook for the coming months.

The overarching theme of the week is “turning crisis into opportunity”, and sessions will explore the role of finance and IT leaders in guiding their charities through the pandemic and rebuilding for the future.

Other confirmed sessions include an update from HMRC about Making Tax Digital, a case study from the Scout Association about using digital tools to transform its offer during the pandemic, and an overview of what this year has meant for investment strategies.

The event will be split over four half days and is CPD accredited.
