The Mayhew Animal Centre has launched a set of campaign postcards in the style of sex cards to shock the public into neutering their pets, after previous attempts failed to make an impact.
The six different cards (click on the thumbnails below) feature an animal and racy strapline along with the phone number of the charity’s neutering hotline. Information about campaign is printed on the back.
Caroline Yates, chief executive of the charity said: “We are very frustrated at seeing countless unwanted and abandoned animals arrive at our rescue centre as a result of the chronic pet overpopulation crisis in this country. Charity campaigns about neutering awareness are simply not infiltrating into the population’s psyche and we are seeing rising numbers of stray animals every month.”
The London charity offers free and low-cost neutering at its clinic, it aims to neuter 2,000 animals in 2013.
