The joint administrators of social care provider William Blake House Northants have completed the sale of its services to a fellow charity.

William Blake House entered administration in April after being the subject of a statutory inquiry over financial and governance concerns, including a £1.5m debt to HMRC and late filing of accounts.

In May, Adam Stephens and Chris Allen of S&W Partners announced that they had exchanged contracts with Camphill Milton Keynes Communities (CMKC) to sell the charity’s residential and assisted living care services.

Today, they confirmed that the transaction, which was subject to customary regulatory approvals, had been completed for an undisclosed fee.

As part of the sale, all 72 staff supporting the residential and supported living services have transferred to CMKC, a charity supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Stephens and Allen said the transaction will help maintain continuity, experience and familiarity for residents as the services move forward under new ownership.

‘Excellent outcome for everyone involved’

Stephens said: “When we were appointed on 1 April 2026, our objective was to secure a sustainable future for the services while protecting the interests of residents, employees and stakeholders.

“We’re delighted to have successfully completed this transaction, which achieves that objective and represents an excellent outcome for everyone involved.”

Allen said: “Completion marks the culmination of months of hard work and collaboration across the William Blake House community.

“We’re grateful to everyone who has played a part in achieving this successful outcome.

“We’re particularly pleased that residents will continue to receive the care and support they rely upon within an organisation that shares the charity's ethos and community-focused approach.

“This transaction also provides certainty for employees and creates a strong foundation for the future development of the services under Camphill MK’s stewardship.”

After opening its inquiry into William Blake House in February, the Charity Commission began investigating two other organisations with the same trustees in May.
